For the past three years, I’ve been the Director of Design at Real, a tech-powered real estate brokerage operating in 45 states and Canada. My first responsibility was to introduce a brand identity that established Real as a fresh alternative to traditional realtors, many of which look alike. The logo is modern, using a simple grid and sharp corners to form a distinct and easily recognizable wordmark.

The R and L of the logo provide the brand with a flexible graphic element. As a monogram, it is a simple solution for smaller sizes (e.g., the Real app icon below). As a framing window, it establishes brand recognition without overpowering the application’s main purpose (e.g., the yard sign and business card designs below).

Lastly, the logo also works as an ambigram: rotating it 180 degrees allows for the exact same reading. This feature provides Real with a bevy of fun and engaging options for animations and loading screens.

Since launching the new brand, I’ve been responsible for maintaining the brand’s consistency, while also adapting it based on the needs and feedback of our real estate agents. Below, you’ll see a sample of my work with Real – from advertisements to social media to videos to swag.
