Real offers its real estate agents a customizable personal website that they can build in just a few minutes. As the Director of Design, I led this project. This required me to work with Real’s developers, customer success team, and management to launch a completely new template and experience.

In order to define the project’s goals, I was required to communicate with colleagues across the firm:
• I surveyed our customer success team regarding the issues that our agents contact them about, and what specific requests agents had for sites;
• I consulted brokers in each of the states we operate in, in order to make sure that sites would adhere to the marketing compliance rules particular to each state;
• And I brainstormed with our CTO, CMO, and lead developer on how we could be creative in face of the limitations that our back-end codebase presented.

I then defined the project’s goals: building a mobile-first, responsive website; establishing a clean and modern aesthetic; featuring more valuable content to a consumer in order to gather their information; and automating agents’ exclusive listings to display on their websites. The end product launched in just over two months, and provided Real agents with a faster and more dynamic website builder that helps them stand out from their competition.
